About MYSC
MYSC stands for Markham Youth Spotlight Council. We host Markham Got Talent annually—a vibrant event where contestants, judges, and the local community come together to witness the incredible talent that exists within Markham.
This council gives contestants the chance to showcase their abilities, compete for a grand prize, and gain recognition. We foster executive council members leadership skills as we develop them into strong, capable leaders.
When youth stay hidden in the dark, with no opportunities to take that first leap, their passion begins to fade. Markham Got Talent provides that much-needed spotlight. We offer a stage for rising stars, where dreams can meet reality—and where young people are reminded that their light was meant to shine.
Our Purpose
"In Markham, I've noticed that many youth are slowly losing their spark to dream big. As a result, countless curious, passionate, and talented individuals go unnoticed as they quietly transition into the corporate world after graduating.
I wanted to create a platform where young people could shine—to give them a real shot at stepping into the world they always dreamed of as kids. Even if it's just a small step, you never know where it might lead. Whether it's a memorable performance on stage or a life-changing opportunity where someone in the audience sees potential and opens a door, it all starts with being seen.
