Too many people see youth talent as something small.
Something to politely clap for — not something to be truly amazed by. Young performers across Markham and York Region have incredible gifts, but too often they're overlooked, underestimated, or simply never given a real stage.
We started MYSC because that didn't sit right with us.
Chapter Two
So we built MYSC.
The Markham Youth Spotlight Council is a youth-led movement dedicated to proving that young talent isn't just good — it's extraordinary. We create the stages, the cameras, and the opportunities that turn potential into recognition.
Talent Showcases
We organize events like Markham Got Talent — real competitions with real prizes, real judges, and a real audience.
Community Platform
We advocate for youth representation and create spaces where young voices are heard, celebrated, and taken seriously.
Career Launchpad
Our cinematic episodes reach millions. We've launched music careers and connected talent with industry scouts.

To create opportunities for youth to display their talents publicly, fostering confidence, community engagement, and recognition of young people's contributions to Markham.

Chapter Three
Markham Got Talent 2026
One of the largest talent shows in York Region is back. Last year's episode reached over 5 million people globally, launched music careers, and proved what we always believed — youth talent is something to be amazed at.
This year, the first place winner takes home the $1,000 grand prize, a trophy, and a cinematic feature across all our platforms.
